Marissa loves entertaining, spreadsheets, organizing, good food, flowers & bringing people together, all ingredients that added up to the perfect formula for starting Sagebrush Events.

A Colorado native from an entrepreneurial family, Marissa strongly believes in doing work that lights her up and makes her fulfilled, set in a place that she loves to live and to work. 

After receiving her B.A. in art history from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Marissa moved to New York City, where she studied fashion at Parsons School for Design, and began working in the industry. She worked in design for Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, specializing in fabric design and sourcing. It was in NYC where she honed her aesthetic sense, creative eye, and first found her love for event planning. She started planning events for the Tory Burch foundation, and knew that this was the work that she loved. 

Eventually the mountains called her back to her Colorado home, where she appreciates the community that life out west provides. She gained experience working for a wedding planner and for a local nonprofit in Boulder planning fundraising events before starting Sagebrush Events on her own. She now lives in Denver, where she likes to take advantage of all this vibrant city has to offer. You will often find her running in the park, getting out to hit the slopes, trying a new brewery, or cooking for her friends.

Marissa is currently planning her own wedding to the love of her life, Michael. They will be married in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in September of 2019.
